How do I get to Marrakech, Morocco?

Situated in the heart of Morocco at the foot of the Atlas Mountains in the North of Africa, Marrakech is best reached by air. The main airport is Marrakech International Airport (MAK) which sees direct flights from all over Europe arriving on a daily basis and is located around 5km Southwest of the city.

The only direct flights to Marrakech come from within Europe which you can review HERE to see where the best connection or stop might be for you (London, Paris, Madrid, and Amsterdam are at the top of the list with the most flights to choose from at reduced prices).

I recommend using Google Flights HERE to see what prices and routes look like direct from your nearest international airport to Marrakech (RAK) first and also see if the prices change if you book them separately (for example, from Vancouver to London, London to Marrakech) to see if there is a price difference.

I also suggest playing with a series of one-way fares vs booking return as sometimes this as I’ve found it to be more affordable and lets you be more flexible and creative with your travel options.

You can set up alerts to email you when the price changes (up or down) on the route you’ve selected to help you know when to purchase and what the trends are.

From North America

There are only direct flights to Casablanca from Canada and the United States of America – not to Marrakech. So arriving in Casablanca means you will have to take alternative transport (flight or train) to get to Marrakech which may not be ideal in terms of cost or time but something to research for sure.

You can choose to get a connecting flight in either London, Paris, Madrid or Amsterdam and to see how this impacts the price.

From the UK

From the United Kingdom, flights take around 3 and a half hours from London. Direct economy flights from London to Marrakech cost between £60 and £350 depending on the airline and the season. Easyjet operates no-frills flights from Manchester and London Gatwick, and Ryanair operates from London Luton and London Stansted. TUI Airways also have flights to Marrakech from both Manchester and London Gatwick. There is also the possibility of taking an indirect flight to Marrakech from other UK airports by catching a connecting flight in bigger cities such as London, Amsterdam or Paris.

From Amsterdam – The trip is roughly 3 hours 40 minutes for a non-stop flight and prices right now around $106 CAD one way.

From Paris – The trip is 3 hours 30 mins for a non-stop flight and prices right now are around $180 CAD one way.

What I know for sure is that in every retreat, the women who come naturally show up for each other to ensure we all get to where we need to be safe and sound. We do everything we can to get each other there, this I guarantee. And every time, it works out.

One of the first things we do in the private messenger thread is to coordinate plans for possible airport connections and those wanting to meet up and travel together wherever possible. It’s amazing what we accomplish when we put our hearts and minds together.

Please purchase insurance for unforeseen medical and travel cancellations wherever possible.

*Proof of a valid passport is required – make sure it’s not within 6 months of expiring*

Please ensure you research the required documentation for your flight or for entry into another country (valid passport for the entire duration of the Retreat and return travel, visa, entry fee, etc.). I cannot accept responsibility for delay or cancellation of any flights, train, buses or other forms of transport.

See pictures of The Riad in Marrakech – Our Home & Headquarters for the week!

This multi-level traditional riad with rooftop kitchen and terraces is ours to use exclusively for the entire week to eat amazing food, sleep safely, do big work in, take dips in the cooling pool, or spend evenings on the deck under the moon in the hot tub. A staff will be on hand to make sure we are cared for in terms of food, cleaning and even providing transportation to and from the airport and setting up tours or help we need navigating the Medina!

The location is AMAZING as it’s a short 5-10 walk to the heart of the Marrakech Medina (ancient walled city)  where we will explore the art & culture of the main square, go shopping in the Souks, check out a Hammam Spa if you wish or go to the night market where the city comes alive!

Sleeping Arrangments

There are no single rooms availabe and only shared accommodation.

3 x  double rooms with one double bed and a single bed (sleeps 6)
1 x twin room with two twin beds (sleep 2)
1 x bunk room with six twin beds (sleeps 6)

All rooms have private bathrooms.

Room allocation can be in several different ways – by lottery unless there is a preference to share with specific individuals. I will let you and your roommate figure out who gets what and when if you want to swap part way through or alternate who gets which bed etc.

If you’d like to request to share a room with a particular person let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your request. If you have special sleep requests or concerns let me know and I will do my best to ensure your needs are respected and met.

Think about packing earplugs regardless and eye masks as there are no blackout blinds if this matters to you.

It’s important for participants to be clear-headed and aware through the coaching sessions and as they process and integrate the learning received. Therefore the use of recreational substances such as alcohol or marijuana mixed in with the work, will not work.

For those who use marijuana or CBD for medicinal reasons, at previous retreats, this has been accepted as long as it respects the other participants’ experiences and is used outside of our sessions (like at the end of the day as we are winding down). Please let me know if this applies so we can respect your needs as well as the group being aware of yours.

The most important thing to me is for you to feel supported and nourished with the best possible food available.

My intention is to provide local and organic sources wherever possible. You can provide any special requests, desires, preferences or sensitivities in the intake form so I can ensure you feel nurtured from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding the above or you feel I’ve missed something that matters to you.

The early bird rate of the retreat is $2750 CAD (if paid before May 1st after which the price increases to $3250 CAD) which includes a non-refundable deposit of $750 CAD to secure your spot.

Payment plans are available, with the full balance due on or before August 15th, 2023.

Once your deposit is submitted, you will be added to a “Radical Retreaters Morocco 2023” messenger thread on FB or Voxer if the majority prefers to not be on social media. The thread is a headquarters for us to connect, get to know each other and communicate about retreat updates, upcoming group calls, and travel coordination leading up to the retreat date. This thread becomes our virtual home to share updates and stay connected in support of each other over the months we are working together after the retreat.

If you arrive late, leave early, have flight cancellations or travel delays, or are ill, there are no refunds available. If you cancel your participation in a retreat for any reason, the cancellation policy below will apply with no exceptions.

I wish I could compensate people for unforeseen circumstances (injury, family emergency, weather, etc.), but costs are incurred early through reserving accommodation, catering, and associated services.

I designed the cancellation policy to be as flexible and compassionate as possible in the case that plans change because, LIFE. But to protect yourself further, you are asked to purchase refundable tickets, tickets that have acceptable change fees, and travel/cancellation insurance wherever possible.

In the event that the retreat is canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions in Morocco, I will attempt to reschedule based on my ability to secure new dates, the flexibility of the group, and venue availability to find an option that fits best for all parties concerned. Wherever possible, I will do my best to refund the fees paid or apply them to the new date.

If you pay in full and choose to cancel your reservation more than 60 days (on or before August 25th) from the retreat, you have the choice of a) receiving a 50% refund of the balance paid; or b) selling your spot to another person privately.

If you pay using the payment plan and choose to cancel your reservation, the payments paid up until that point will not be refunded. If you find someone to take your place and continue payment this might be an option to consider.

If you cancel anytime within 0–60 days prior to the retreat start date, no refunds or credits will be possible, but if you can fill your own spot and sell it privately, this is an option to consider.

To cancel, you must send an email stating that you wish to cancel to:

If a Radical Acceptance Retreat is canceled specifically due to too few participants, I will refund all payments made, or you have the choice to apply your payment for a future retreat when one is scheduled. I cannot compensate for airfare or travel costs incurred so please ensure you have the proper cancellation insurance.

In the unlikely event that a retreat is canceled due to weather, natural disaster or political upheaval, I cannot guarantee a refund but will do my best to recoup funds already paid and refund whatever is possible.

To mitigate these risks, please purchase travel cancellation insurance.

Please limit your valuables, as traveling with such items will be your complete responsibility. I cannot be held liable for any breakage, loss or theft of personal items while at the retreat.

Your safety, wellness and comfort during the retreat is paramount. Therefore, if you experience a fever or any symptoms of illness, please refrain from attending.
